The old Montem Ice Arena has been stripped back to the original steel and completely rebuilt with a 1000m2 extension fronting the Bath Rd.

New facilities will include a fully refurbished ice rink, café, climbing wall, gym, party zone and changing facilities, with a grand opening to the public in April 2018. The Ice Arena will be home to the Slough Jets ice hockey team and many community groups participating in ice-based sports.

Refurbishment and extension of the Ice Arena

The refurbishment and extension works are being undertaken by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), which is driving regeneration across the town including leisure, housing, community and school buildings. The refurbished ice arena and new extension will add an extra 1,000m2 of space. The two-storey extension will house the new entrance, reception, café, gym and climbing wall with clip ‘n’ climb feature. The new facility will be managed by the council’s leisure provider EveryoneActive.

The Ice Arena will be opening to the public at the end of April, following a multi-million pound rebuild including:
• a new ice rink
• new fully-glazed barriers
• new changing rooms and toilets
• new spectator seating and lighting
• new café
• new climbing wall with clip ‘n’ climb feature
• new gym
• extensive landscaping and car parking
