New homes for Wexham

Work has started on 104 new homes in Wexham Green – the latest housing development by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR).

SUR, the joint venture between Slough Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Investments Ltd, is bringing new family-sized housing to the site of the former Wexham Nursery on Wexham Lane.

Named Wexham Green, the homes are being built by Lovell and include two, three and four bedroom detached and semi detached houses.

The high-specification homes will be both for private sale and affordable rent and there is Help to Buy available across the development.

Second development launches summer 2017

Wexham Green is the second major housing development undertaken by SUR – and starts less than a year after the beginning of Milestone on Ledgers Road which is already 70 percent sold.

Sales for the Wexham Green development are planned to start in summer 2017.

Councillor Zaffar Ajaib, commissioner for housing and urban renewal, said: “Housing in Slough is at a premium and we need new and high quality housing for our residents.

“These homes are in a lovely setting, right of the leafy edges of the borough and within easy reach of the town and the hospital.

“And with the addition of new homes for affordable rent this is a real benefit for residents.

“We promised we would be spending more on housing in the borough, building more homes and more affordable homes – and this estate is one part of this promise becoming a reality.”

Andy Howell, general manager of SUR said: “The Wexham Green development is significant because it demonstrates the ongoing success of SUR and the second housing site beginning construction.

“It is really exciting to see homes being built in this area which will enhance what the town already has to offer and to deliver much needed, high quality new housing for those living and working here.

“Wexham Green is a fantastic leafy new place ideal for family living and we are very excited to see the houses now being built.”
