ARBOUR PARK

The Arbour Park project included delivery of a circa 2000-capacity stadium with 3G floodlit pitch and function rooms, along with works at the adjacent St Joseph’s School to provide them with a four-court sports hall and refurbished classrooms. The community sports facility is a welcome addition to Slough’s investment in fantastic new sports and leisure facilities, offering superb state of the art modern corporate and sports facilities.

This award-winning project was opened to the public in June 2017.

This award-winning community sports facility, delivered by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), serves an area of the borough that has high inactivity levels. It now offers a programme of activity attracting local people of all ages to become more active, more often – a key element of the Council’s five-year, £35 million leisure strategy. Slough Town Football Club, which now plays its home games at the Stadium, is thriving at this new facility.

Arbour Park’s new floodlit 3G artificial pitch is one of 28 in the country awarded the prestigious FIFA Quality Pro certificate and the only one in the Berks and Bucks FA region. In April 2017, Arbour Park was named the best new non-league ground for 2016/17 by Groundtastic, the football grounds magazine. The judges praised the facility for its ‘pleasingly individualistic appearance’ and ‘strong visual continuity.’

Arbour Park also won Best Public Service Building  at the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2018.
